Team 7-2 Guidelines for Success

Morning Homeroom
Morning homeroom begins upon dismissal from the cafeteria. When students arrive at the team area, they will go to his/her locker and report to homeroom. Students are allowed to go to the library with teacher permission. This time may be used to ask team teachers' questions about homework, missing work, read, and socialize quietly in the homeroom setting.
Food and Beverages
Students are encouraged to limit eating to morning homeroom, snack times and in the lunch room. The team will sell healthy food items on its snack cart with prices ranging from $0.25-$0.75.
Library
The library may be used during homeroom period, during study halls, and at the discretion of team teachers. Students will not be allowed to go to the library during SSR periods on Mondays and Wednesdays. Students are expected to have a Sustained Silent Reading (SSR) book in all classes and will be allowed to exchange books in the library as necessary. Students may also use the library for research and to utilize the computers.
Lockers
Students will be assigned one locker. Students who play sports may keep sports bags and equipment in his/her homerooms, if it will not fit in their lockers. Students are expected to utilize lockers effectively by bringing textbooks, writing implements, binders, student planners, and homework to class.
Lunch
Students are escorted to and from the lunch room by team teachers.

Phones
Students may bring personal electronic devices to school as long as they are used at the appropriate time, place and manner. Cell phones must be turned off during the school day and used under the guidelines specified in the Student/Teacher Handbook.
PM Homeroom/Dismissal
Students will be dismissed for first wave from his or her last period class. The remaining students should pack up for the evening and go to homerooms to wait for second wave and walkers to be called. Students that play sports will be dismissed to the gym to change as follows: First Wave: X-Country and Field Hockey; Second Wave: Socccer and Volleyball.
Student Planners
Student planners are one of the keys to success in middle school. Students are expected to carry his/her student planner to all classes and to accurately record homework, long-term assignments, tests and quizzes.
Hatchet Time
During this time, students who are not enrolled in a World Language will report to a designated classroom to receive instruction from 7-2 team teachers. The goal is to provide students with a better understanding of who they are and where they are as a learning using interventions, extensions, and skill development to improve their abilities to relate to their academic, soical/emotional, and behavioral success.
Office/Nurse/Guidance, etc....
There are times that students may need to go to the office, see the nurse, or seek guidance support throughout the school year. In all cases, students must ask permission of the classroom teacher and get a pass to go to other locations in the school.We are looking forward to a great school year!
