Welcome! My name is Johanna Maxwell. This is my 14th year at RFS!  I have three children. Laila, step-daughter, who is 13 and in 8th grade, Liam who is 10 and in 5th grade, and Gunnar who is 7 and is in 2nd grade. They keep me very busy and always on my toes. My husband, Dave, and I love to take the kids on adventures as often as possible. We love to camp, kayak, listen to live music and be outdoors as much as possible. 

For as long as I can remember I have always wanted to teach and 3rd grade has always been a goal! I have a dual certification in teaching. I have a degree in Elementary education, as well as, Special education. I started my career in Special Education and taught in Reeds Ferry's Learning Resource room. I was trained in Applied Behavior Analysis and worked closely with children on the Autism Spectrum. After several years I decided to change things up.  I obtained My Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus in Literacy. I move into the regular education classroom and taught 2nd grade for three years until I found my home in room 39 where I have been for the past 4 years. I love 3rd grade. I love the curriculum, I love the maturity that develops at this age, and I love the humor that is brought to the classroom each and every day. I'm excited for the year ahead!
